The Fortebet Real Stars Sports Monthly awards organizers have revealed the victors for April. This month’s winners hail from the realms of football, boxing, and rugby and were honored at a ceremony held on Tuesday at the offices of Jude Color Solutions in Kampala.
Muhammad Shaban, the prolific striker for KCCA FC and currently the leading goal-scorer in the Uganda Premier League, clinched the title of best football player for April. Shaban’s impressive tally of four league goals and one assist propelled him to victory, outshining contenders like Paul Mucureezi from Kitara FC and Sharon Namatovu.
In rugby, Michael Wokorach of Heathens secured the accolade for his stellar performances throughout April. Wokorach’s impactful contributions, particularly in the three games he participated in, earned him recognition, including a standout performance that saw him named man of the match during his team’s triumph over Impis. His competition included Emily Lekuru and Yasin Wasswa.
In the boxing category, Farahat Manirola emerged victorious, overcoming rivals Henry Kasujja and Harold Mukuye. Manirola’s highlight was his impressive knockout victory over Gael Assuman from the Democratic Republic of Congo in a match held in Kampala during April.
The winners were presented with commemorative plaques and cash prizes, generously provided by the main sponsors Fortebet and Jude Color Solutions.
