Aisha Kabanda, the Member of Parliament representing Butambala district for the National Unity Platform, provided insights into the metamorphosis of the Muhoozi Kainerugaba Movement (MK Movement) into the Patriotic League of Uganda. In a televised interview, Kabanda delved into the reasons behind this transition, depicting the MK Movement as a branch of the ruling NRM party targeting youth engagement.

Having previously aligned herself with the NRM, Kabanda underscored the party’s realization of its diminishing influence among the youth demographic. She suggested that promoting Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s involvement aimed to bridge this gap. However, Kabanda voiced skepticism about Muhoozi’s ability to authentically represent youth interests.
