The United Nations says escalating violence in Sudan’s Kordofan region is worsening the humanitarian crisis and threatening civilian lives.
UN spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric told reporters that intensified fighting between the Rapid Support Forces and the Sudanese Armed Forces has resulted in civilian deaths, injuries, and widespread destruction.
One of the most alarming incidents involved a drone strike on Dilling General Hospital in the city of Dilling, where at least four patients were killed.
The UN stressed that medical facilities must remain protected during conflict.
Violence has also increased in Kadugli and El Obeid, where repeated drone attacks have targeted hospitals and government buildings.
Aid organizations warn that attacks on infrastructure and supply routes could further disrupt humanitarian relief operations.
