Donald Trump Declines Another Debate with Kamala Harris Ahead of November 5th Election
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has announced that he will not participate in another debate with Kamala Harris before the November 5th presidential election. Posting on Truth Social, Trump confirmed his decision, stating there will be no third debate, citing his perceived victory in their previous encounters.
“We’ve had two debates already – one with Joe Biden, one with Kamala Harris – and I’ve already said all that needs to be said,” Trump declared at a rally in Tucson, Arizona.
He compared Harris’ call for a rematch to that of a losing boxer, suggesting she is seeking another debate to recover from a loss.
“When a prizefighter loses a fight, they always ask for a rematch. That’s what Kamala wants.”
While Trump claimed victory, various polls following their first debate showed a mixed outcome. Some surveys indicated Kamala Harris outperformed him. Speaking in North Carolina, Harris called for another debate, emphasizing that voters deserved the chance to hear more from the candidates:
“I believe we owe it to the voters to have another debate. Two nights ago, Donald Trump and I debated for the first time, and there’s still more to discuss.”
Polling data reveals a tight race between the two candidates. A Fusion Reports online survey shows Trump leading with 49%, while Harris has 47% support among likely voters. In Michigan, a key battleground state, Insider Advantage reports that Trump holds a narrow one-point lead. However, a Reuters/Ipsos poll conducted after the September 10th debate shows Harris leading Trump 47% to 42% among registered voters.
These numbers underscore the intense competition between the two nominees, as the country approaches the final stretch of the campaign. Meanwhile, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland has denied claims of partisanship in the Justice Department and condemned rising threats against department employees.
