A Father’s Reluctance: Mowzey Radio’s Memorial Service Unattended Amidst Family Dispute
Mowzey Radio’s father has declared his reluctance to attend the yearly commemorative event for his late son. The memorial service, along with associated festivities, traditionally takes place at the burial site of the deceased singer in Kagga Nakawuka on February 1st, where fans, family, and relatives gather to offer prayers for the continued peace of his soul.
It is noteworthy that, following Mowzey Radio’s demise, disagreements arose between the father and the mother concerning the location of his final resting place. The father expressed a preference for his son’s burial at their ancestral grounds in Fort Portal, while the mother insisted on Nakawuka as the chosen location.
The father, who had resumed work after a six-year mourning period, revealed that he has numerous children, some of whose whereabouts remain unknown to him. Additionally, he conveyed his lack of inclination to partake in Mowzey Radio’s memorial service. He attributed this decision to his identity as a born-again Christian, asserting that he does not subscribe to the practice of praying for the deceased.
Furthermore, he underscored his unwillingness to set foot on Radio’s burial ground until he resolves the disagreements with his ex-wife, Kasuubo Jane, who is also Mowzey Radio’s mother.
